José Manuel Feito
Fotógrafo Contemporáneo
José M. Feito was born in Madrid in 1965. He studied Automotive Engineering, and in 1998 began studying photography and chemical darkroom processes. In 2004 he moved into the digital world, studying digital image processing.
He completed several courses at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. In 2014 he completed a Master's in artistic and conceptual photography at the EFTI school, and the course on creative processes and resources in Art, taught by Javier Vallhonrat, in 2015. He continued his training at the Círculo de Bellas Artes and at the PIC Alcobendas school of PhotoEspaña.
He has given lectures and workshops on night photography and lightpainting in Madrid and Santander. He also holds several awards and mentions for his artistic work. His work is held in various public and private collections.
In his work he proposes poetic images. He is interested in symbolism, and in the concerns and feelings it generates in human beings. These are photographs the viewer must complete with elements outside the image itself, without relying on its descriptive aspect. Lived experience, mood, and even personal preferences mean the image returns something different with every viewing.
