Karl Lagasse
Born in 1981 in Paris into a family of artists, Karl Lagasse began practicing art from a very young age, influenced by sculptor César Baldaccini, whom he met as a child, and by Yvaral Vasarely. He sold his first piece at 15, and in 2006 held his first solo exhibition at Galerie Isy Brachot in Brussels, presenting his 'Buildings' series inspired by New York skyscrapers.
In 2009 he gained international recognition with his 'One Dollar' sculpture series, being named among the world's top ten sculptors under 30 by Artprice. He has collaborated with brands such as Maserati, and in 2016 then-French President François Hollande personally congratulated the artist on the success of his 'One Dollar' work, exhibited at the Grand Palais.
In December 2024 he took part in Art Basel Miami Beach with his 'One Dollar' series, reaffirming his presence on the international contemporary art scene.
